AGE DETERMINATION

• The PONY league age determination date is the child’s age as of December 31, 2010.  The Fall softball leagues are Pinto (1/1/2002-12/31/2003), Mustang (1/1/2000-12/31/2001), and Bronco (1/1/1998-12/31/1999). There must be enough registrants for each age group in order to have the league minimum of 4 teams. 

REGISTRATION COST

• The fee covers the cost of uniforms (jersey, visor, and socks), umpires, equipment, and awards.  The awards for all age groups will be 1st and 2nd season and tournament t-shirts as well as participation t-shirts.  All age groups are provided one official per game. 

PRACTICES

• The practices begin the week of August 23rd for all age groups.  Prior to regular season games beginning, teams will practice two or three times a week.  Once the season starts, one practice per week is assigned to each team. 

GAMES

• The games will begin the week of September 6th for all age groups.  There will be 2 games played per week, one game during the week and one game on Friday night.  All Fall softball leagues will play 12 regular season games, followed by a single elimination tournament. 

EQUIPMENT REQUIREMENTS

• A jersey, visor, and socks are provided.  All girls are required to have their own glove.  If you are buying her first glove, remember that girls 7 years through 10 years, play with an 11” softball and the girls 11 and up play with a 12” softball.  Plastic cleats or athletic shoes are recommended.  Metal cleats are not permitted for any age group.  Pelican Park provides team batting helmets and catcher equipment.  A face guard is required for all batting helmets.
